EAGLES歷年的作品中,我最喜歡的有以下三首:HOTEL CALIFORNIA,ONE OF THESE NIGHTS,WITCHY WOMEN,這三首都是他們在還沒拆夥之前就已經發表,而且迅速紅透半邊天的代表作,尤其是這首HOTEL CALIFORNIA更是經典中的經典...    HOTEL CALIFORNIA BY EAGLES On a dark desert highway 黑暗的沙漠高速公路上 Cool wind in my hair 冷風吹亂了我的髮 Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air 空氣中飄來colitas《註》溫暖的氣味 Up ahead in the distance 望向遠方 I saw a shimmering light 我看到閃爍的燈光 My head grew heavy and my sight grew dimmer 我的頭越來越昏沈,視線越來越模糊 I had to stop for the night 我得停下來過夜 There she stood in the doorway 她就站在門邊 I heard the mission bell 我聽到了教堂的鐘聲傳來 And I was thinking to myself 我心裡想 'This could be heaven or this could be hell 這兒可能是天堂也可能是地獄 Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way 然後,她點燃蠟燭為我帶路 There were voices down the corridor 走廊傳來許多聲音 I thought I heard them say...... 我想它們是說...... Welcome to the Hotel California 歡迎蒞臨加州旅館 Such a lovely place such a lovely face 多麼可愛的地方;多麼可人的臉孔 Plenty of room at the Hotel California 加州旅館有足夠的房間 Any time of year, you can find it here 無論哪天,隨時恭迎大駕 Her mind is Tiffany-twisted 她的心思只有時尚名牌 She got the Mercedes Benz 還有輛賓士轎車 She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends 還有很多她稱為「朋友」的俊美男孩 How they dance in the courtyard 他們在庭院裡跳著舞 Sweet summer sweats 香汗淋漓 Some dance to remember 有人跳舞是為了回憶 Some dance to forget 有人是為了遺忘 So I called up the Captain 於是我請領班過來 'Please bring me my wine' "幫我端杯酒來" He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine' 但他說"我們這兒從1969年起就不再供應烈酒了" And still those voices are calling from far away 那些聲音依然在遠方召喚 Wake you up in the middles of the night 讓你在深夜裡也會驚醒 Just to hear them say....... 只聽到他們說....... Welcome to the Hotel California 歡迎蒞臨加州旅館 Such a lovely place (such a lovely face) 多麼可愛的地方;多麼可人的臉孔 They living it up at the Hotel California 人們狂歡縱情在這加州旅館 What a nice surprise, bring you alibis 多麼美麗的驚喜,是你逃避的藉口 Mirrors on the ceiling 天花板上的鏡子 The pink champagne on ice 冰鎮的粉紅色香檳 And she said 'We are all just prisoners here of our own device' 她說"我們都是自投羅網的囚犯" And in the master's chambers 在主人的接待房裡 They gathered for the feast 所有客人齊赴盛宴 They stab it with their steely knives 他們用小鋼刀戳刺獵物 But they just can't kill the beast 卻無法宰殺那隻野獸 Last thing I remember 我最後記得的是: I was running for the door 我奪門而出 I had to find the passage back 我得找回我的來時路 To the place I was before 回到從前的地方 'Relax', said the night man "別緊張",守夜人說 'We are programmed to receive 我們是被創造來接收一切的 You can check out any time you like 您隨時都可以買單 But you can never leave' 但您休想離開!
